Nutritional Therapy is the application of evidenced-based science to promote optimum health and peak performance by assessing and identifying potential nutritional imbalances for each individual. Nutritional Therapists understand how nutrients, food, environmental and lifestyle factors influence the function of the body and when something goes wrong, it will have a knock-on effect on systems in the body. Nutritional therapists’ advice never replaces medical advice and will always refer ‘red flag’ signs and symptoms to the medical professional.
I get each client to complete a health questionnaire and food diary. In the consultation I will ask further questions so I can get a clear picture of your health story, which allows me to get a clear picture of which systems in your body needs support. I may also recommend functional testing from private laboratories to give us a full picture of what is going on beneath the surface, which will help give us a clear picture of what is going on beneath the surface. I always work with my clients to device a health plan comprising of nutritional and lifestyle recommendations. My approach is always to focus on food first but if needed, I may recommend supplements.
